Chris Pritchard (grandson): My grandfather Thomas Turpin (1885-1970) was a plumber and sanitary engineer in the Kenya Colony from 1921 to about 1935. He sold his share of the business to his partner Frederick James Thornton when he left and returned to South Devon in England. Thomas Turpin died at his home in Bishopsteignton on Dec 28 1969 and was buried in Bishopsteignton new graveyard with his wife who had been killed in Teignmouth by WW2 bombing on Sep 2 1942.
