General Information:
Went out to Kenya (from Queensland) to join her two aunts, Olive and Margaret in 1930, where she met my father, a young DO. She adored life in the Colonial Service with Dad. She would go out on tax safaris with him (when he was a junior DO) equipped with Ellermans Horse Embrocation to rub on the rheumatic muscles of the old; and a wind up gramophone. "O for the wings of a Dove" would send the Africans into paroxisms of laughter. She also spent a great deal of her time on welfare pursuits. She set up Women's Institutes in the Kakamega District which the women greatly enjoyed. She also collected money for such things as radios for patients at the African hospital in Kisumu.
