Link - Told his daughter that it was the National Park law that if a train hit an animal, the train had to stop and one of the crew had to cut off the animal's tail, which had to be handed to the Park authorities as soon as possible. One dark night, Peter Harrison's train hit a giraffe and Peter brought the train to a halt and dismounted with his knife. He duly cut off the tail and climbed back into the engine cab. As the train was about to resume its journey, Peter saw the giraffe rise to its feet and gallop away - without a tail, and he wondered if his tale would be believed!
