Limuru - letter from May Kell (now Warren-Gash) at Limuru 1924-26 'I was at 'The Hill Preparatory School', Limuru, from late 1924 to Easter 1926 when I left to go to St. Bride's, Helensburgh, Scotland. In what used to be the library, I think, we sat around the fire in the evenings. Two classes, also prayers and services were held in there. We used to go on picnics in a big wagon drawn by about 6 or 8 oxen. During one very dry season 3 girls had to use one bath water - I was always the third as at that time I was the oldest! We were given lovely slices of white bread and dripping for elevenses. Our Matron - a dear - had a horrid little monkey. It bit me once! I still have an old, if not a first edition of the original prospectus for 'The Hill Preparatory School for the daughters of Gentlemen'
