Uxbridge and West Drayton Gazette 21 Feb 1936 A decree nisi was granted to Mrs Rene Lizzie Smith of Longford, West Drayton, on the ground of adultery of her husband, Basil George Smith, an engine driver. The suit was not defended. The parties were married in September 1921 at the parish church, Harmondsworth, when petitioner was 19 years of age. They lived together at Newton Road, Isleworth, but the marriage was unhappy, and after six months they separated. Petitioner's case was that in 1922 her husband went to Nairobi, where he subsequently lived with another woman.
