Tom Lawrence: He joined the Kenya Regiment (KR 1062). There were a great number of Tweedies who joined the Kenya Regiment at the same time -John Norman (581), Graham Calderwood (998), Douglas Noel (1013), Gordon David (1229), and Bruce Clement (3034), who all would have done their bit in WWII (The Last Colonial Regiment, by Ian Parker). John Norman Tweedie was his uncle (father’s brother) (www.tweedie.com).
Douglas Royle Tweedie of Kitale applied to the Supreme Court of Nairobi for the letters of administration for the estate of Paul Peregrine Tweedie (d. Musoma, 15th Jan 1946) (Gazette, 22nd April 1947, p. 210).
