Collings-Wells - ' …… Naturally from all I had heard about Kenya and knowing that I myself had been born there, when the time came for me to think what I wanted to do with my life, my thoughts naturally turned to Kenya. I was just finishing my degree course in Agriculture at Reading University and I heard about some Colonial Agricultural Scholarships which were on offer. That was in 1947, not very long after the ending of the war ……. I was awarded a 2-year scholarship.
