Diary of Olave Baden-Powell (via Robin Clay, grandson) Saturday 29 January 1938
Got back to my Beloved at our darling outspan home at 12.0.
Sunday 30 January 1938 My Darling did not seem quite so well & in my absence Dr [?] came again, & is not so pleased with his dear tired heart, and suggests having a specialists’ opinion. So plan for Dr McAlden to fly up from Nairobi to see what is wrong, & also to decide what he may or may not do in the future.
Monday 31 January 1938 A very peaceful & lovely day again, and I go for two long walks. This “outspan” is a “Company” on a business footing & we have a brain wave & think that we might invest some money in the Company with which Eric could build another bungalow – like this delightful one – for us to come & live in for 6 months each year, as we always shall want to come out of England for winters as usual. Eric thrilled with the idea, & starts making plans.
