Kingsley-Heath - Called to the Bar of Gray's Inn, UK, and appointed Crown Counsel in the Tanganyika Legal Dept. 1949. Prosecuted Julius Nyerere, afterwards President of Tanzania, for the slander of a district officer. Prosecuted the Mangati ritual murderers who dressed up as lions before killing their victims in Singida District, Tanganyika. In a long and distinguished colonial legal career, he was chief justice of Bermuda and the Cayman Islands and president of the court of appeals in Belize. He was most helpful to me [Kingsley-Heath] as a district officer, his guidance being involved in the recording of cases of preliminary enquiry to murder. (Deceased)
