Wolseley-Lewis - 1930s - "I had some special friends, June and Jim Egerton Davies, who were managers for Mervyn Ridley who farmed up at Moiben. They had two sons and were having a very difficult time bringing up a family on their salary. Luckily, much later, Mervyn allowed them to take over the farm and when the price of coffee eventually went up, they made out and built a proper house to replace the shack they had had to live in.
