General Information:
Grew wheat in Nakuru area then took up land in Gilgil district. He was an early pioneer in essential oils and pyrethrum. Retired first to the coast and subsequently to Natal.
Nellie - 'It is a horrible tragedy about the Bingley boy [Richard] who was murdered; his father has had so many tragedies, lost his first wife aged about 19 having a baby, and his second wife died of some unnecessary form of poisoning before M&B days. Lately he has spent a lot of money and a tremendous lot of personal service working for the model community centre at Dundori, quoted everywhere as a shining example of race relations. Very bitter.'

Pembroke - 'An ex-pupil, Roy Bingley, who had attended Pembroke House in the 1930s and farmed not far from the school, was one of the first (and few) Kenya settlers killed by Mau Mau. ….'
