Pioneers - A Farm Manager - Sir John Hewett - In 1916, owing to illness, I returned to Limuru where I was put to 'manage' the Hendersons' farm. 'Manage' is in inverted commas as I really knew nothing about it. The Hendersons owned a lovely farm near the church.

All Saints Church Limuru cemetery - Plaque in church - died 25 September 1915, aged 26 - "in memory of my brother Thomas Adam Henderson, 2nd Lt. 6th Gordon Highlanders, who loved Limuru. He was mentioned in despatches and reported missing at the battle of Loos, France, 25th September 1915 (the ceiling of this church was given)
