General Information:
Darling - Lundazi I shall always associate henceforth with Errol Button, who was once District Commissioner here and whom I met last year in Lusaka. He has an original mind and also money of his own, which gives him an independence of action few people seem to exercise today. He built the boma at Lundazi and it is the most successful building architecturally I have seen here except the White Fathers' Mission near Kasama. Button also built the rest-house (now the hotel where we stayed) and let himself go, in that he produced a place like a castle in native-made red brick. It is odd and a folly, but lots of fun. ………. Button also made a dam in the Lundazi River which created a large lake in front of his rest-house …..
