General Information:
Random - 'My cousin, Alison Milne, who was in Nbi. at the outbreak of war, had decided to send her daughter, Elizabeth, back to England with her nannie to stay with her grandmother, Frances Balfour, in Addison Road.
In 1916 Alison started another baby. But things did not go too well; she had first a fall from her horse and then an operation for appendicitis. We were all rather anxious about her, and it was thought a good plan for me (Eleanor Cole) to go out to be with her till after the baby was born.'
Berkeley Cole always used to stay at her house when in Nairobi and he called her Mrs Father, since Savage (Dr. Milne) was often known as Daddy Milne, being Principal Medical Officer for Nbi.
