General Information:
Mary Hoey says - The two Ker brothers lived in the Ol Arabel Valley some way outside Rumuruti. They ran cattle and sheep. They both drank too much and Pat, the oldest brother shot himself. Devona had been in love with Pat (nobody could imagine why) but after he shot himself she married the brother. He spent most of his time out hunting with a pack of hounds. They eventually moved to S. Africa. They had one son.. The Ker sister had a terrific affair with Lord Mornington, the Duke of Wellington's heir which the Wellingtons greatly disapproved of as she was a rather weird girl and not at all suitable to produce a future Duke of Wellington. This affair came to an end when Morny as he was known to all of us, was killed in the war. I have a sort of idea the Ker girl died later, or did she kill herself? There was something odd about it. The Kers were an unstable lot!
Red 31 has J.P.J. Paton Ker, Rumuruti
