Uganda Journal - Vol. 2 No. 2 - Further Memories of Uganda by Sir Albert Cook - The first English ladies to arrive in the country [Uganda] were 5 CMS ladies in 1895, followed by 3 more in 1896. The first Government lady (I speak from memory only) was, I think, Mrs Foaker in 1898. Mrs Boyle was the first lady in Entebbe in 1903.
