Chandler - Ralph Metcalfe (also seen as Medcalfe) - The nephew of Walter 'Karamojo' Bell, "Slim" Medcalfe was also a professional hunter in East Africa. In the 1940s he shot an elephant with tusks of 154 pounds per side on Balambala Island in the Tana River.
First Wheel - I [Bunny Allen] also had the pleasure of meeting and hunting somewhat with Ralph Metcalfe. He was a nephew of the tremendous elephant hunter, Karamoja Bell. Ralph was some kind of relation to Jack Soames I believe ………. He was a very amusing character and at a party his fund of stories never dried up. ……… after many years in Kenya, ultimately retired to England ……..".
