Nicholls - WW1 - Lieut. W.J.T. Shorthose, with 40 KAR men and 6 settlers, bravely marched from Kericho to retake Kisii, observed from the hills by Africans who had a morning's entertainment watching white men shoot at each other. As far as they were concerned, one white man was as bad as another and they did not much mind who was in possession of Kisii.
