General Information:
Letter from John Carnegie - 'We knew another extraordinary old man who had a glass eye. He was told that a leopard that had been eating lots of his best calves was caught in a trap in the bush just below his house. He grabbed his shotgun, went into the bush, walked up to the snarling leopard and shot it from 6 feet away. His Africans shouted to him through the bushes - "Hey, Bwana, what are you doing? The leopard is here in the trap!" He suddenly realised he'd just shot its mate, who was NOT in any trap and also in a terrible temper.

Rift Valley - 18 Mar 1928 - Luncheon - 'Fish cold about ? Usual grilled steak & onions had been stewed in morning & warmed up slightly for lunch. Onions bad portions about 1 3/4 ins x 1 x 1/2 potatoes very bad vegetables grey peas out of a tin perhaps cold brisket about 1 1/2 oz too much as portion. Suggest a cook & grill should be procured. Boys continually talking noisily. Members a hungry looking crowd & they cannot be blamed.' [reply - 'Noted with regret and dealt with']
