General Information:
Howard Smith (nephew): He went to Canada where he earned a degree in Mining Engineering, got married and moved to Timmins, Ontario to work at the mine there for 18 months. In April 1939 they moved to Kenya where 'Tim' worked at a gold mine in the Nyanza region, followed by a move to McCalder Mines, between Kisii and Homa Bay. In 1956/'57 Tim moved to Kibakari Mine near Musoma in Tanganyika. The family left Africa in 1958 for Canada.
