Carman - the Medical Research Laboratory under Dr. W.H. Kauntze who later became DMS in Uganda
Carman - A new and enlarged medical laboratory was very badly needed and work started on one in 1929. It was opened in 1930 and W.H. Kauntze who had been Senior Bacteriologist thought of this rank as being a dead end and succeeded in getting his designation changed to that of Deputy Director of Laboratory Services, a sound strategical move because he was promoted to be DMS Uganda in 1932.
