DSO - London Gazette 24/9/18 - For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. While his battery was being heavily shelled with gas, shrapnel and high explosives he constantly exposed himself, moving from gun to gun and encouraging the detachments. He then went to the observation post to make a report. Whilst visiting the advanced wagon lines he was severely wounded. It was mainly due to his gallantry and fine example that the battery maintained its rate of fire.
